    Burnt Effect Floating Shelves

    By taking a reclaimed piece of solid timber and scorching it, we have created these stunning burnt effect floating shelves.

    Not only do we pick, plane, cut and sand each piece of timber by hand; but we also scorch each piece by hand too.

    Rustic by nature and unique in design; this beautiful floating shelf will add something special to any room in your home. Not only gives you extra storage, but it also creates a great talking point with your guests.

    *Please be aware that the style of your shelf may differ from the image. This is because we do not remove the timber's natural markings and the natural markings on individual pieces of timber may react differently to scorching.

    We use a blend of beeswax and carnauba wax, two of the finest waxes known to man. Our wax is designed to protect raw wood and can be applied to virtually any existing finish. The wax is hand applied by the craftsmen in our workshop. The wax adds to resilience of the wood which makes for easy cleaning. We recommend applying a clear coat of wax once a year to keep your item looking amazing!

    The wax enhances the natural grain whilst protecting the wood

    Once applied, the timber soaks up the wax and enriches its natural features. The wax not only adds to the resilience of the shelves, but it also makes for easy cleaning as they are water-resistant. We recommend applying a clear coat of wax once a year to keep your item looking amazing!

    The wood is a natural material, so it may absorb the wax slightly differently across different pieces.

    Raw Steel – Dark Grey in colour and built using robust malleable iron fittings and mild Steel pipe. Our Raw Steel is coated with a protective lacquer so although not suitable for outdoors it is designed to last a lifetime indoors.

    Brass – We only use the highest quality Italian Brass fittings and solid Brass pipe on our furniture. Brass will not corrode and is great for outdoor and indoor use. To provide a full range of sizes for our brass pipework, we cut and thread pipes from longer lengths for specific sizes. This process may result in some minor marks on the brass, which are visible upon close inspection.

    Copper - All our Copper products are protected with a hardwearing clear lacquer to ensure they keep their natural glow. Copper will not corrode and is great for outdoor and indoor use. If used outside be sure to treat it with care to ensure it keeps the natural glow.

    Industrial Silver – Silver in colour, our Galvanised Steel range has been dipped and treated with Zinc to make it water and rust-resistant. The galvanised coating is up to 10 times more resistant to abrasion than standard powder coating. Perfect for indoor and outdoor use.

    Stainless Steel – The pièce de resistance of metal, Silver and reflective in colour. Stainless Steel is made by adding Chromium to Molten Steel making it incredibly resistant to rust from water and salt water than galvanised Steel. Perfect for indoor and outdoor use, your stainless-steel piece of furniture will literally last forever.

    Powder Coated – A powder-based paint that is sprayed onto the Steel. It is chip resistant and helps prevent water corrosion. The paint doesn’t chip, crack and peel like traditional paint making it more durable. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
